Alfred Hitchcock’s “I, Confess” (1953)

One of my favorite things on television was Alfred Hitchcock Presents. I adored Sir Hitchcock’s wonderful sense of humour and looked forward to any and all tales he presented.

I haven’t seen “I, Confess” (1953) since I was about 9 years old and when I saw it available on DVD I had to see it again.

Hitch is brilliant as always, from the second the screen lights up, we are taken into a world of infectious dialogue, creeping shadows, saturated cobble stoned streets coupled with intense longing, love and drama. You feel every emotion, every scene is a subtle masterpiece. OH MY GOD THE ACTORS EMOTE !!!!

Re: your caption “An innocent man departs”…I’d always assumed that was Otto Keller departing Monsieur Villette’s office after the deed was done.
